To determine your payment platform, please look at the Merchant Details on your financial statement.
- If only "The Athletic" or "Paypal The Athletic" is listed, you purchased directly through the website.
- If "iTunes" is also in the merchant details, you purchased using in-app purchase on iOS.
- If "Google" is also in the merchant details, you purchased using in-app purchase on Android.
If you purchased directly from the website:
- Navigate to Your Account page at theathletic.com/settings
- Click Cancel Subscription under Subscription
- Finish the cancellation process on screen
If you purchased using in-app purchase on iOS:
- Go to the "Account" pane of The Athletic app
- Tap your name at the top of the page
- Tap Manage Subscriptions
- Tap "Go to Settings"
- Tap on The Athletic subscription
- Tap Cancel
or
- Open the Settings app on your iOS device
- Tap on your Apple ID at the top of the screen
- Tap on Subscriptions
- Tap on The Athletic subscription
- Tap Cancel.
If you purchased using in-app purchase on Android:
- Open your Google Play app
- Choose Subscriptions from the menu
- Choose The Athletic from the list
- Cancel
