Gift Redemption Assistance

To get started with your account go to theathletic.com/redeem and enter the code from the PDF file you received or click the Redeem link in the gift email that you received. The account that you are logged in with currently will have the gift applied to it as soon as you click Redeem. You can see what account you are logged into displayed above the Gift Code box. If you are not logged in, you will be asked to create an account or log in after redeeming a gift.

Unfortunately, gifts cannot be redeemed to accounts that were previously started using PayPal, iOS in-app purchase, or Android in-app purchase. For these cases, you must cancel your current account and once your current subscription period ends you can redeem this gift at theathletic.com/redeem. Cancelling your account does not mean you will lose access to The Athletic; you will maintain access to The Athletic until your current subscription period ends.
